Losing (too much) weight?!

I know I am incredibly lucky to never have had a weight problem in the traditional sense, and I have never had to deal with many of the typical stresses of diets and scales that go along with it… but I am experiencing something that may not be so unusual to those new to veganism- undesired weight loss.

I am already a relatively slim person so I didn’t want to lose any weight, only gain a healthier lifestyle. Now, I am not naive, I knew that transitioning from a pescetarian diet (vegetarian with occasional sea-food) to a purely vegan diet would probably have some affect on me in the weight arena, but within the first three weeks of being a vegan I have lost about 7 pounds.  Now that’s not a lot really, but it was a significant amount to me since I have weighed exactly the same (give or take a pound) since I was 15.  Now I am trying to figure out ways to gain the weight back and so far I have incorporated more fatty nuts in my diet and it’s worked a bit.

My main concern right now is getting back to muscle building.  I was very toned in high school because of my participation in a dance company and dance competitions and constant training.  I have done some research and I’ve found that there are actually vegan athletes and body builders out there who look amazing!  There is also a book I want to get called The Thrive Diet, written by a vegan athlete.  I will do more research into vegan muscle building in the next couple weeks, but for now if anyone has any tips, advice or experience that they would like to share, let me know!
